MIx Tape Mondays - The First Song I Bought

I have been meaning to join in with this meme for ages!  The lovely blog Boo and Me host this every monday with a different topic and its right up my street being the huge music lover that I am!

Now do I hold my head in shame or shout with pride at my choice of song this week?

The First song I bought -

Oh dear, playing this back is quite embarrassing!  It was the first CD I bought, even though I used to buy the rest of my singles on tape!  But, I still remember walking into Our Price in my local shopping centre and being majorly excited about purchasing this along with a free poster!  I still have it, its in excellent condition but is hidden amongst my other shameful CDs!

Its safe to say my music taste has majorly improved, although it sometimes catches up with me as I have tickets for Steps and still keep all my girl and boy band albums on show with great pride!

Listography - Top 5 Xmas Tunes!!

Kate this week has handed over her listography to These Precious Things who has chosen the festive theme.  Being the scrooge that I am, I was not going to join in this week, but then began making a list in my head anyway so thought I would share it!  I must stress that I hate christmas songs - mostly because they do not get played at christmas any more but about two months beforehand so that by the time christmas comes, I hate it!  So, the point of my list is to highlight the fact that there once was a time when I loved christmas and these songs remind me of the magical christmas' I had as a child:

1:  East 17 - Stay Another Day

Being a huge fan of the band at the time, this one song always reminds me of being a teenager, and the warmth and fluffiness of xmas

2:  Queen - Thank God Its Xmas

Love anything Queen related, and this song reminds me of shopping!(Probably because it gets played all the time in December!)

3:  The Darkness -Dont Let the Bells End

Got to have a bit of humour through all the madness and this song always cheers me up!

4:  Cliff Richard - Mistletoe & wine

Oh dear,  I cannot believe I am putting Cliff on my list but this song reminds me of family xmas' as a child, the excitement of seeing all those presents and eating chocolates, the nostalgia from this song alone makes me long for it all again!

5:  John Lennon - Happy Christmas (War Is Over)

Ahh, love this one, I definetely feel all xmassy when I hear this!

I just have to add that my favourtie xmas song of them all is Fairytale of New York but I didnt include it because Im sure everyone else did!  Plus, Coldplays song, Christmas Lights from last year is in there but thats because Im a Coldplay fan, not because it reminds me of xmas!

Bah Humbug!

My Blogging Ways

Well, since moving four weeks ago, my blogging has been a bit lazy really!  I have done well keeping up to date as best I can with my 365 Day Photo Challenge, and began the Advent Calendar, but have been lacking in actual posts!  I even had to remind myself of the Day Zero Project list I made to see if I can add anything to it!

Winter should be the perfect time for me to blog as I am home most of the time so no excuses.  But I am currently trying to hold down two jobs, be a mum, fiance and have time to myself so those are my excuses!  But this is the first year I have blogged through winter and I have to say I am thouroughly enjoying it. The challenge of what to write about, coming up with new ideas to keep it fresh and entertaining, and reading other peoples blogs are all part of the thrill and I may have to admit that I am slowly becomig obsessed!
But its so much fun!  Before blogging, I would have a little creative voice inside my head bursting with ideas but no where to put them.  Now I can spread that voice all over my personal pages to share with who ever may chose to read it!
And it definetely helps that I have amazing followers who check in when ever they have the time to see what I have to say, who comment on my posts, and who spread the word when they really dont have to, (but they do really!).  My followers keep me motivated, inspire me to write and without them I defientely would not have continued this blog!
Who knew that a world of blogging would open up in my life and play a big role?!
So six months down the line, 36 followers later, 164 blog posts, 101 challenges and upto 81 photos so far, where on earth will this blog be in another six months?!  Extremely excited to find out, and with even more ideas in the pipeline, I had better not let my daily routine make my blogging slack again!

365 Day Photo Challenge - 80 / 365

80 / 365 - Poor Jacob has not been well for the last week, he cannot seem to shift this cough with added temperature.  He has been on and off school, today he was kept off but seems a little brighter, this was taken this morning, all wrapped up with mummy in bed!

365 Day Photo Challenge - 79 / 365

79 / 365 - Continuing my notebook fetish, I found these gorgeous notebooks in the sale at Accessorize! They are so pretty!

365 Day Photo Challenge - 78 / 365

78 / 365 - An impromptu games evening before bed!  Me and Jacob bought Dean Doctor Who Monopoly for his birthday so thought we would test it out.  Im not a huge fan of monopoly, (it bores me!) but I actually enjoyed this and Jacob was learning at the same time by being the banker and rolling the dice!
